Electric Buses - Tim Kyle Electric

Electric Buses Keep Rolling On

Cars aren’t the only vehicle being developed for clean energy use. Electric buses are also appearing on the scene as a viable public transportation option with a “zero emissions” goal. They are receiving more attention than ever as the sustainability movement spreads farther and more completely across the globe with big appearances, particularly, around California.

The Importance of Electric Buses

The United States are hardly the only country in the world to aim for this goal, with China being a direct “competitor” in this “race.” The state of California is particularly serious about the production and implementation of electric buses, though, having “[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][issued] $23 million in grants for manufacturers to build EV big rigs for ports.” Clearly, based on the funding alone, there is a push toward change.

It’s a change that’s needed, particularly in a state that deals with a good amount of smog and other pollution concerns. “Cities are the origin of 70 percent of the globe’s carbon emissions… and cars and trucks and buses account for about a fifth of total US emissions.” Obviously, a change in how we power these vehicles needs to change, but there hasn’t been much of that until this point. Even these days, many people turn a blind eye to the need for clean energy sources, but there’s still more activism on the subject lately than ever. It doesn’t help that Americans use cars as transportation more than they use public transportation and certainly more than a lot of foreign countries.

The goal of these companies is to have their innovations utilized by as many people and locations as possible. If there is success in the implementation of these electric buses, then the same technology can apparently be transferred for us within trucks, who have little by means of clean energy sources.

Experts in the field note that focusing on one technology and developing it as fully as possible is the way to really make progress. They highlight “fast charging technology” as one such product that, if fine-tuned, could be used across cars, buses, and trucks to positive effect.
